The Marketing Manager – Email & App Messaging is responsible for leading consumer messaging function of MOD Pizza primarily through email and app marketing efforts. You’ll take part in developing MOD’s customer lifecycle messaging strategy but your bigger task is to roll up your sleeves and get dirty executing the strategy.

 

The ideal candidate will know the ins and outs of creating promotional and transactional emails, the current best practices for email delivery, and how to generate effective app communications (push messages and in-box notifications). You know how to create engaging communications for the MOD fans, from strong email subject lines to compelling content and design, and are always looking for the next great idea to test. You’re comfortable developing a messaging calendar and hitting deadlines. You have both an eye for a well-created email and messaging design and a passionate attention to detail. You work best in collaborative environments where good ideas can come from anywhere. You have strong judgement and can easily inhabit MOD’s brand voice. Most importantly, you’re energized by the opportunity to grow MOD’s email and app messaging presence so the brand can tell its story and engage with more and more customers around the U.S.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and executing the promotional email and app messaging strategy
  • Setting up, testing, deploying and monitoring email marketing campaigns and in-app communications
  • Driving initiatives to grow and manage MOD’s CRM database
  • Monitoring and implementing email best practices, including email deliverability, customer segmentation, email cadence, content and list management
  • Work cross-functionally to develop and execute MOD’s messaging calendar
  • Evaluating marketing campaigns to understand why or why it didn’t resonate with the target audience and reporting on effectiveness against relevant marketing goals
  • Developing and implementing an A/B testing methodology to continually improve and optimize email and in-app messaging performance
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with internal stakeholders

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3-5+ years of relevant progressive experience in email marketing; experience with loyalty programs a plus.
  • Proven track record of creating and executing email campaigns at high velocity; both batch and triggered. Understanding of the types of email and app messaging that generate engagement and an ability to articulate those qualities
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Dreamweaver, and email testing tools
  • Proficiency with email marketing platform tools and deep understanding of best practices for email marketing
  • Exceptional attention to detail and collaborative mindset

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using web analytics to evaluate effectiveness of email marketing campaigns

Physical Requirements

Office work involves remaining in a stationary position most of the time in front of a computer, using a keyboard, mouse and telephone. Regularly operate a computer and other office equipment. Occasionally move about the work site to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc. Exert up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or regularly move objects. Communicate and exchange information with co-workers and other individuals in person and electronically.
