Compensation: $88,034- $103,601 

Actual salaries will be based on candidates qualifications, competencies, experience and geographic location. .

Summary

MOD’s Manager of Payroll will plan, administer and manage the payroll ream responsible for all aspects for payroll for more than 5,000 employees across more than 20 states. The Payroll Manager is a critical partner to MOD’s HR Team, Finance Team and Executives. You will play a key part in adapting MOD’s systems and processes to ensure effective delivery of pay to our squad around the country.

Work Location and Schedule Expectations

The Manager of Payroll will work Monday – Thursday onsite in our Support Center located in Bellevue, Washington. Home office/remote work is permitted on Friday; employees can work in office 5 days per week if they prefer.

Your schedule is a standard business day and has flexibility to come in early or stay late based on your personal and work demands. This is an exempt role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Oversee the daily workflow of the 4-person department
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
  • Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
  • Serves as a corporate resource to the MOD stores for payroll related matters.
  • Understands operations as well as the functionality of the systems that provide payroll data. 
  • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
  • Works closely with the accounting team to ensure the accuracy of payroll and employee benefit postings to the general ledger.
  • Responsible for developing department goals, objectives, and processes.
  • Oversee Time & Attendance system setup and time reporting; performing audits as needed.

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years payroll experience.
  • 1+ year management experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of the payroll function includes preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Strong communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ADP Software and Vendor Management
  • Shared Tip Poll Reporting Experience

Physical Requirements

Office work involves remaining in a stationary position most of the time in front of a computer, using a keyboard, mouse and telephone. Regularly operate a computer and other office equipment. Occasionally move about the work site to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc. Exert up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or regularly move objects. Communicate and exchange information with co-workers and other individuals in person and electronically.
