Summary

The successful candidate will be part of an infrastructure service delivery team that supports IT infrastructure services at the MOD Support Center. Our services include systems, network, and Cloud services.

The role will focus on day-to-day operations, including maintaining and leading complex projects/tasks within Point of Sale registers, laptops, Azure and Microsoft Office 365 environment, network systems, and more.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing and resolving complex systems incident tickets to restore services.
  • Maintain Active Directory, email security and Microsoft services in Office 365.
  • Maintain file server/network share and files.
  • Investigate, trouble shoot and resolve systems health and performance issues.
  • Participate in on-call support rotation, respond and coordinate support activities in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for creating and updating operational documents and support knowledge articles.
  • Provide documentation and training to support analysts.
  • Primarily responsible to manage tasks assigned by IT and Project management.
  • Resolve complex ticket escalations from Tier 3 helpdesk.
  • Act as lead on On-call shifts as needed.

Basic Qualifications

  • 1+ years of systems and network administration experience. And/or 4+ years of Helpdesk experience
  • Basic scripting experience using PowerShell.
  • Experience working within Azure environment and O365.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service attitude and skills.
  • Experience with Point-of-Sale systems and Back Office systems such as Brink and Restaurant Magic.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields preferred.
  • Cisco Meraki network and/or equivalent.

Physical Requirements

Office Semi-Technical work involves remaining in a stationary position most of the time in front of a computer, using a keyboard, mouse and telephone. Regularly operate a computer and other office equipment. Occasionally move about the work site to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc. Exert up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to handle or move objects. Semi-regularly positioning oneself (e.g., stand, walk, stoop, bend, twist, kneel, crouch) to set up, install, and repair computer equipment. Systems & Network Admin/Engineers regularly handle or move objects weighing up to 20 lbs.; occasionally up to 40lbs (team lift okay). System Administrators regularly handle or move objects weighing up to 40 lbs. Communicate or exchange information with co-workers and other individuals in person or electronically.
