Compensation: $54,000 - $65,000 salary

Actual salaries will be based on candidates qualifications, competencies, experience and geographic location. .

Facilities Specialist Overview

The Facilities Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all physical aspects of the restaurant—equipment, building infrastructure, and grounds—are maintained to the highest standards. This role oversees maintenance operations, coordinates repairs, manages service contractors, and ensures compliance with health and safety regulations, all while supporting smooth daily restaurant operations. This is a hybrid position requiring market travel, 1 to 2 days a week doing hands-on repairs and working closely with operations teams.

This role requires an employee to be based in Houston or Seattle markets. 

Facilities Specialist Key Responsibilities

  • Maintenance Oversight:
    Supervise and coordinate all building, equipment, and utility maintenance (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, electrical, kitchen appliances).
  • Vendor & Contractor Management:
    Source, manage, and evaluate contractors and service providers for repairs, and preventative maintenance.
  • Health & Safety Compliance:
    Ensure facilities comply with food safety, fire safety, and local health and safety regulations; support inspections and audits.
  • Preventative Maintenance:
    Develop and manage preventative maintenance schedules for kitchen and restaurant equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Emergency Repairs:
    Respond quickly to urgent issues (e.g., refrigeration failures, leaks, backups) to ensure business continuity.
  • Team Support:
    Work with restaurant management to minimize disruption to service during maintenance activities.

Facilities Specialist Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in facilities service and maintenance management, preferably in a hospitality or restaurant environment.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems and commercial kitchen equipment.
  • Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or evenings for emergency repairs.
  • Proficient with basic computer systems and CMMS software.
  • Must have a solid technical service background. Capable of making minor electrical, plumbing and mechanical repairs.
  • Valid drivers license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Trade qualification (e.g., plumbing, HVAC, electrical) is a plus.
  • Experience managing multiple sites is advantageous.
  • Food safety and/or OSHA certification preferred.
