At MOD we put people before pizza, and we put data in front of our decisions. We are looking for a passionate BI professional that will roll up their sleeves, lead a small data team, and continue our journey of data and analytics self-service excellence.  

An average week might have you collaborating with vendors on improved data integration methods, reviewing the code of team members, working with our loyalty team on customer cohort analysis, or streamlining a dashboard for our field leaders. Your ability to keep the team focused on incremental wins and outcome-based initiatives will serve you well as the nature of our business evolves. Your attention to detail will make sure to keep our customer and employee data safe and secure.  

Stakeholders across the organization look to the BI team to provide guidance and direction on the quality and quantity of data available to drive decision making. This position will translate those needs into a scalable vision, roadmap, and budget to support our continued data needs.  This role reports to the VP of Technology. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Evangelize the BI mission and vision across our store squad, support center, executive team, and board of directors.  
  • Own all aspects of data governance, data engineering, data tooling, metadata management, and data literacy across MOD.  
  • Act as BI thought-leader that drives the identification and development of innovative solutions to take us to the next level.  
  • Develop and maintain cross-functional relationships with business partners and franchisees to understand issues, research findings, discover opportunities, and develop recommendations.  
  • Develop and maintain external relationships (i.e., vendors, industry partners etc.) to enhance current programs/technology and develop new business solutions.  
  • Develop, motivate, coach the Business Intelligence team and embedded data analysts across the company.  
  • Plan, coordinate, and support the operations, tasks and projects of BI team.  

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years leading key BI teams, projects, or programs  
  • Experience with modern cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, and Tableau  
  • Demonstrated knowledge of data visualization, data pipeline, data governance, and metadata management architectures  
  • Curiosity and passion for data, insights, analysis, and storytelling  
  • Ability to convey complex concepts and information to a broad audience  
  • Desire to put people first and drive towards stakeholder-focused outcomes

Physical Requirements

Office work involves remaining in a stationary position most of the time in front of a computer, using a keyboard, mouse and telephone. Regularly operate a computer and other office equipment. Occasionally move about the work site to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc. Exert up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or regularly move objects. Communicate and exchange information with co-workers and other individuals in person and electronically.
