Compensation: $28.99-$32.21 / hour

*Actual salaries will vary based on a candidate’s qualifications, competencies, experience, geographic location.

Summary

At MOD, you will be a key contributor to our accounting team being responsible for performing a variety of tasks including the analysis and preparation of payroll and other health and benefits accounting entries, utilities and other general and administrative accruals to support our month-end close process. Have a team-first attitude and a willingness to help out wherever needed. This role requires a strong foundation of accounting principles, attention to detail, collaboration with stakeholders cross-functionally and the ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple workflows. This role reports to the Manager of Accounting.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare journal entries for payroll, health insurance and other employee compensation related costs. Collaborate with the payroll and people teams for information necessary. 
  • Develop the quarterly store bonus file by coordinating with the financial planning and analysis team ensuring bonus targets are met and facilitating reviews with our field leadership team for approval. 
  • Track and manage our third-party commission reporting and accounting on a periodic basis. 
  • Coordinate with external third-parties to obtain data needed for health and insurance related costs. 
  • Prepare period end account reconciliations and other close activities or tasks. 
  • Support other ad hoc accounting projects as needed.

Basic Qualifications

  • Strong foundation of accounting principles.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with stakeholders at all levels. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with an attention to detail.
  • Skilled in effectively planning, organizing and managing multiple priorities.
  • High degree of professionalism and integrity.
  • A positive upbeat personality who believes in opportunities rather than obstacles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SAP is preferred

Physical Requirements

Office work involves remaining in a stationary position most of the time in front of a computer, using a keyboard, mouse and telephone. Regularly operate a computer and other office equipment. Occasionally move about the work site to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc. Exert up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or regularly move objects. Communicate and exchange information with co-workers and other individuals in person and electronically.
